Friction materials
Friction Materials
Resistance and thermal stability of phenolic resins are the key performance elements in friction materials manufacturing. Resins are valued for the production of:
• clutch lining;
• drum brake lining;
• disk brake pads for railway and motor vehicles.
Resins are used in asbestos-base and asbestos-free friction materials.
Friction dust, fine hardened organic base alkylphenols, plays an important role in the production of friction materials. Friction dust is used as filler. The use of friction dust increases frictional force at elevated temperatures of friction materials and reduces the temperature in friction contact zone.
